Student and parents work alongside one of our most experienced administrators who will help you manage the academic journey every step of the way.
While students may have a history of struggling in specific subjects, or may want to focus more of their attention on certain outcomes in the education experience, more often than not students can benefit most from personalized attention devoted to developing concrete, proven study strategies and habits that can last a lifetime. Accountability plays a major role in this component of education. Many schools simply do not have the resources to devote towards the study success of individual students on a regular basis, instead opting to focus on educating the class as a whole and providing individual feedback on assessments.
The Tutoring Rocks study skills development program is our most personalized experience, pairing students with Tutoring Rocks administrative personnel that act as scholar coaches dedicated to aiding growth and development in lifetime study techniques. Our study skills tutors work with students to improve organization, daily task planning, and general communication and monitoring that instills an attitude and methods into students so that they don’t fall behind in their education. These techniques work beyond their grade to apply onward through university and into their professional lives.
Families often enroll in our study skills development program for reasons related to boosting grade point average for college admissions, as well as when subject-specific tutoring just isn’t cutting it for their student. Sometimes these problems can compound, placing additional stress and frustration on students and leaving parents feeling hopeless as they’re unsure of where to turn to next.
The Tutor Rocks Scholar Program aims to push past these barriers by getting at the root of the problem, tackling study skills from a more holistic approach and providing students with an alternative perspective on how to view their academic work. We’re not just about continuing the school day and adding more academic hours to a busy plate; rather, we strive to provide study skills tutoring to students that augments their learning as a supplemental, diverse approach to academics.
